Stress is often hard to measure or acknowledge but features heavily in our Western lifestyles. It plays a large role in most of our illnesses, diseases and anxieties.
We are so busy 'doing' that we spend very little time just 'being'. We don't allow the body and mind the time and space to switch off and we carry this through into our sleeping time.
Our conciousness and thought processes create 'electricity' and 'heat' which as we sleep get cleansed and cooled by our 'liver' and 'blood'. But if sleep is disrupted then this can build up and affect not only our mind, but our physical body too.
Acupuncture can have an immediate effect on stress. It's like lifting the lid on a pressure cooked and allow the body to 'let off steam'.
