Georgie McBurney
Psycho-Spritual Counsellor
I have an avid interest in the natural world, complementary therapies and spiritual development. I've had previous careers in the British Army, Police, Education, fostering and a previous business in Natural Therapies for both Animals and People.
Along with private practice, I work at a GP surgery as a Lead Health Coach & Counsellor supporting adults with various diagnosis. I have set up a small counselling service within the surgery and facilitate a Mental Health Peer Support Group once a month.
What’s Available:
PRIVATE CONNSELLING
For Adults
Humanistic Integrative (Transactional Analysis, Gestalt, Person Centred and Psycho-spiritual)
Short term Counselling (6-10 sessions)
Ongoing Counselling if required.
EFT MRA (Emotional Freedom Technique and Matrix Reimprinting)
Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT) is a sequence of tapping on the ends of the body’s
meridian lines, while focusing on specific issues which can lead to a freeing of emotional and
physical symptoms. Whilst Matrix Reimprinting (MRA) is a technique which changes your
relationship to your past and deep held beliefs. It can transform your physical and emotional
health in the present by using the unified energy field or matrix.
SOMATIC SHAMANISM
Somatic Shamanism integrates ancient shamanism with psychotherapeutic modalities such as
somatic experiencing (relating to the body), polyvagal theory and internal family systems. I
guide you into a sacred space to facilitate an opportunity for your own healing and self-
discovery at the emotional, mental and spiritual level. You experience your own engagement
in the process which supports the person-centred approach, you being the expert on you.
PSYCHOLOGICAL FIRST AID
PFA is an approach used to reduce stress symptoms and assist recovery following a traumatic
incident. It differs from counselling, as rather than unpack you emotionally, it supports
keeping everything together to allow you to function by bringing in safety and grounding
techniques to help the brain to recover from its heightened state.
